As both a business litigator and intellectual property attorney, Brian is uniquely positioned to help clients protect and enforce their intellectual property rights. He guides clients through patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright disputes, as well as all phases of trademark prosecution, including adoption, searching, screening, and federal registration. Brian also assists clients with trade secret protection, including drafting non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, enforcing restrictive covenants against exiting employees, and implementing organization-wide trade secret protection plans. He also drafts and negotiates intellectual property and license agreements, as well as website privacy policies and terms of use.

Brian represents a wide variety of clients, ranging from multinational corporations to individuals and start-ups, both domestic and international. He works closely with foreign counsel in many foreign countries to protect his client’s intellectual property rights abroad. Brian is also the firm’s associate hiring partner, responsible for recruiting and hiring new attorneys.

  • Manages trademark portfolios for a variety of organizations with domestic and international presences, including an advanced cyber security research and development organization, a soft drink company with a historic brand, a leading online university, a national security solutions provider, an authentic Italian gelato producer, a top manufacturer of die attach and epoxy dispensing systems, and many others
  • Represented variety of businesses in patent and trademark infringement lawsuits, including a sensor manufacturer, a producer of expansion joints, and a footwear company
  • Stopped dozens of instances of online copyright and trademark infringement occurring both domestically and internationally
  • Created and implemented organization-wide trade secret protection plans for entities ranging from small businesses to larger manufacturing companies
  • Successfully enforced restrictive covenants against former employees of a technology company
  • Together with shareholder Rob Miller obtained a federal district court judgment of $12,176,735 on RICO claims filed by an investor group against real estate developers, arising out of investment in, construction of, and operation of a hotel
