Sheehan Phinney Welcomes Bartram to Estate Planning Group

(Manchester, NH) Sheehan Phinney welcomes attorney Mark B. Bartram to its Estate Planning Group.

Bartram focuses his practice on trusts and estates with extensive experience in estate planning, trust and fiduciary administration, and probate matters. He works closely with individuals and families to design and implement strategies that preserve wealth, minimize taxes, protect assets, and achieve charitable and legacy planning goals.

Bartram began his career practicing as a Trusts and Estates attorney at law firms in South Carolina and Washington, D.C., where he developed deep experience counseling private clients on estate planning and fiduciary issues. He later held senior legal and leadership positions with several independent trust companies serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. In these roles, Bartram advised trustees, fiduciaries, and family offices on complex estate and tax planning, fiduciary governance, trust acceptance and termination, and regulatory compliance. He also directed risk management programs, developed fiduciary policies, and guided clients through sophisticated wealth transfer and succession planning strategies.

Drawing on this unique combination of private client and fiduciary leadership experience, Bartram brings both technical knowledge and practical insight to his practice. His core strengths that he will bring to the Sheehan Phinney practice include estate planning and tax minimization, fiduciary governance, probate and estate settlement, wealth preservation and asset protection, charitable planning, and regulatory compliance. He is particularly adept at navigating complex fiduciary structures, developing governance frameworks, mitigating risk, and delivering results-oriented solutions that align legal requirements with client priorities.

Bartram received his J.D. from Vermont Law School and his B.A. from the University of Vermont. He is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Maryland, South Carolina, and the District of Columbia. Before beginning his legal career, Bartram served in the United States Coast Guard and later worked for U.S. Senator James M. Jeffords of Vermont.
