(Manchester, NH) - Sheehan Phinney shareholder Gregory Chakmakas has graduated from the 2026 class of Leadership New Hampshire. Each year, Leadership New Hampshire selects a dynamic and diverse group of leaders from across the Granite State to take part in a transformative journey of learning, connection, and civic engagement.
Chakmakas serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Real Estate and Planning Group. He focuses his practice on affordable housing and community development projects utilizing tax credit financing. Chakmakas regularly represents both for-profit and non-profit developers in complex community development transactions throughout New England combining federal tax credit incentives with state tax credits and other funding sources.
Chakmakas is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Virginia, and before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his B.S., magna cum laude, from East Carolina University. Chakmakas was named one of the New England Real Estate Journal’s Ones to Watch for both 2022 and 2024 and was recognized as one of Best Lawyers in America® Ones to Watch, Real Estate Law.
