(Manchester, NH, December 31, 2019) – Sheehan Phinney is proud to welcome Michael D. Ramsdell to its Business Litigation Department. Ramsdell brings 30 years of experience representing varied clients in commercial, civil, administrative, appellate and criminal litigation.

Ramsdell has represented public officials, attorneys, defense contractors, electric utility companies, real estate developers, hospitals, and public risk pools in civil, regulatory, and criminal matters. His civil practice consists of commercial and employment disputes, defense of regulatory and administrative investigations and claims, and tax abatement and land use matters. Ramsdell also maintains an active criminal practice. He has represented many clients during high profile federal and state investigations and prosecutions.
Ramsdell began his career with the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office. In addition to heading the Homicide Unit, Ramsdell served as Associate Attorney General for the Division of Public Protection. Prior to joining Sheehan Phinney, Ramsdell engaged in private practice for 20 years, including founding and running his own firm for the last eight years.
Ramsdell has served on the Criminal Justice Act Panel accepting court appointments to represent indigent federal criminal defendants for more than a decade. He also serves on the United States District Court Advisory Committee.
