Chakmakas and Eills Named Shareholders

(1/5/2022, Manchester, NH) – Sheehan Phinney is proud to announce that attorneys Gregory A. Chakmakas and Andrew B. Eills have been named shareholders, effective January 1, 2022.

Sheehan Phinney President and Managing Director, David W. McGrath, stated the unanimous decision was based on their “dedication to both the firm and their clients, excellent lawyering skills, professionalism, diligence, and community involvement.”

Chakmakas is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Group with a focus on advising nonprofit and for-profit owners and developers in the preservation and production of affordable housing. He has represented developers, nonprofits and housing authorities in numerous transactions financed with federal low-income housing tax credits and tax exempt bonds, generating much needed residential units for low income tenants in states throughout New England.

Chakmakas is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Virginia, received his B.S., magna cum laude, from East Carolina University and his J.D., cum laude, from Washington and Lee University School of Law. He is a member of the Manchester Regional Board for Waypoint (formerly Child and Family Services) and a graduate of Leadership Greater Manchester.

Eills is a member of the firm’s Healthcare Group where his practice includes contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactional matters, federal and state regulatory issues, and corporate and non-profit governance. He provides guidance on issues affecting critical access hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, behavioral health and substance use disorder providers, home health and hospice organizations, Federally-Qualified Health Centers, and urgent care facilities. Eills regularly advises clients on, among other areas, telehealth, fraud and abuse, and compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Physician Self-Referral (Stark) law.

Eills has been named one of NH’s Top Attorneys by Business NH Magazine as well as Chambers USA, both for his work in Healthcare. He is admitted in New Hampshire and received his B.A., with Distinction and Departmental Honors, from Stanford University and his J.D. from Tulane Law School. Eills is Chair of the NH Public Employee Labor Relations Board, and is a past Member of the Board of Trustees for the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association (now Granite VNA).
