Stanley Named to JDRF New England Board of Directors

(4/1/2020, Manchester, NH) – Sheehan Phinney attorney Michael R. Stanley has been named to the Board of Directors for JDRF New England, where he will serve a two-year term. Stanley became involved with JDRF in 2018 after his son, Luc, was diagnosed with T1D at age 5.

Founded in 1970 by parents caring for their children with Type 1 Diabetes, (T1D), JDRF is now the leading global organization funding T1D research. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle; there are no preventive measures and, at present, there is no cure. JDRF’s mission is to improve lives of those with T1D by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. JDRF New England serves the T1D community in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Stanley is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Group where he focuses on complex cases. He specializes in financial services litigation, class actions, and appellate work. Stanley has represented clients on real estate, federal and state lending regulations, and loan and debt servicing requirements.

Stanley is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He received his J.D. from Vermont Law School, cum laude and his B.S. from the University of New Hampshire. Stanley is a member and treasurer of the Board of Trustees for Friends of EcoQuest. He has recently been named a Rising Star by Massachusetts Super Lawyers® for his work in Business Litigation.
