Former NHDES Commissioner Tom Burack Joins Advisory Committee of the New Hampshire Clean Tech Council

(March 7, 2018, Manchester, NH) — Sheehan Phinney Shareholder Thomas S. Burack has been named to the Advisory Committee of the New Hampshire Clean Tech Council (NHCTC)- www.nhcleantechcouncil.org, effective immediately. The firm has also joined the NHCTC as a member.

The NHCTC was formed in 2013 as the business group of the NH Sustainable Energy Association (NHSEA), a statewide non-profit – www.nhsea.org. They are committed to advancing the awareness, deployment, and success of the clean tech industry by fueling the development of a viable NH innovation economy that will create new jobs, skills, and investments to strengthen the state’s economy.

Burack is a nationally recognized strategic leader in the fields of environmental and energy regulation, as well as organizational management and governance.  He served as Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services from 2006-2016, and in that capacity helped to form and lead the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, led the development of the NH Climate Action Plan, chaired the New Hampshire Energy Facilities Site Evaluation Committee, served on the NH Water Sustainability Commission, and helped craft the Northeast Ocean Plan. In addition, Burack played a key role in bringing continuous process improvement and collaborative leadership approaches to the executive branch of New Hampshire state government and spearheaded creation of E-Enterprise for the Environment, a shared governance approach among US EPA, states and tribal governments to modernize the business of environmental protection and regulation in the United States.
