Sean joined the Firm in 2002, after 18 years in the General Counsel’s Office at Dartmouth College. Early in his career he worked as an associate at Foley Hoag in Boston.

Sean’s practice focuses on providing core legal services to for-profit and non-profit clients in New Hampshire and Vermont. His areas of expertise include employment, education, real estate transactions, land use permitting, and business transactions. He works extensively with college and university clients in areas such as employment, intellectual property, student discipline, faculty promotion and tenure, Title IX, and technology transfer. He has worked with numerous clients in internal investigations of sensitive matters.

  • Designed structure and drafted organizational documents for business incubator; developed lease template for incubator tenants; worked with construction manager in 2-phase development of incubator building.
  • Successfully defended court challenges to college disciplinary proceedings.
  • Frequently represents employers in the negotiated resolution of employment disputes and severance agreements.
  • Served as a legal reviewer for a client producing training materials on OSHA, employment discrimination, business ethics, and other legal compliance topics.
  • Successfully represented developer in permitting and development of large, multi-phase mixed use office/residential/commercial park, including financing, and planning, zoning, and environmental permits
  • Worked with client in development and leasing of multiple broadcast towers, including local land use compliance and lease negotiations with cell phone providers
  • Worked with non-profit developer and distributor of innovative medical school courseware
