Sheehan Phinney attorneys in the Public Finance Group provides a broad range of services to participants in public finance transactions. We serve as counsel to underwriters and investment bankers, borrowers, credit enhancers and corporate trustees as well as special counsel to the New Hampshire Health and Education Facilities Authority, the state's largest issuer of tax-exempt bonds. Because of our long-standing experience in public finance and our representation of a diverse set of interests, we are able to provide a depth of perspective to help guide our clients through an increasingly complex set of laws and regulations.
The members of our group advise clients on all aspects of federal and state law relating to public finance transactions, including tax and securities law issues, regulatory matters, real estate acquisitions and development, related contractual matters and general corporate issues. Our attorneys bring their experience in other practices, such as health care and education, housing, and not-for-profit law, to the Public Finance Group. In addition, we have developed experience in specific tax-exempt financings such as tax credit transactions in the housing field, and ensuring that agreements with taxable providers meet applicable federal tax standards.
As part of a regional law firm with offices in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, Sheehan Phinney Public Finance Group draws upon the experience of its members and the wealth of resources represented by the firm's other practice groups. In addition, we assist our clients with legislative issues through our affiliate, the Sheehan Phinney Capitol Group.
