Practice Focus
Sean has practiced with our firm since 2002. Before joining Sheehan Phinney, he worked in the General Counsel’s Office at Dartmouth College for 18 years.
Sean’s practice focuses on employment counseling and representation in state and federal employment-related matters; advice and representation regarding land use and development business formation and transactional matters; and the representation of schools and colleges, health care organizations and other non-profits. He frequently speaks to business organizations and writes articles on topics related to his areas of practice.

- Successfully represented a client in a race discrimination case, obtaining judgment for the defendant without trial.

- Developed HIPAA compliance plans and documents for large and small employers.
- Served as a legal reviewer for a client producing training materials on OSHA, employment discrimination, business ethics, and other legal compliance topics.
- Successfully represented developer in obtaining necessary permitting for development of 19 single family home sites; drafted covenants and property owner association documents.

Sean is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Vermont. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), the River Valley Human Resources Association, the Upper Valley Computer Industry Association, and the Hanover and Lebanon Chambers of Commerce.
Community Involvement
Sean has been a Trustee and served as Secretary for The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT, since 2002. He also served as a Board Member of the United Way of the Upper Valley from 1987 to 1991.
