Practice Focus
Bob has extensive commercial litigation experience including administrative agency proceedings, arbitrations, jury trials and appellate practice involving both multi-national corporations and small businesses. He regularly advises clients on antitrust compliance issues. His practice focus also includes environmental litigation and arbitration; patent, trademark, trade secret disputes; stockholder and partnership disputes; and motor vehicle /dealership disputes.
Bob is the firm’s liaison with Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent law firms. He is an active member of the Lex Mundi Antitrust, Competition and Trade Practice Group and the Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Bob joined the firm in 1991 after practicing in New York City.
- Won multi-million dollar arbitration involving failure of remedy at Superfund Site
- Successfully served as mediator in allocation of CERCLA liability at complex multi-party Superfund Site
- The NH Supreme Court affirmed a judgment in favor of two mortgage companies and their principals, who were accused of trade secret misappropriation and misuse of supposed confidential information by a former employer. The court also reversed a very substantial post-trial award of monetary sanctions against Sheehan’s clients.

- Obtained a summary judgment in favor of a major insurance company in a dispute over group disability coverage; and
- Successfully represented a major franchise organization on appeal in a joint venture dispute.

Bob is co-author of the New Hampshire Chapter in the book Brownfields: A Comprehensive Guide To Redeveloping Contaminated Property (3rd Edition). He was recently named a “Best Lawyer in America” by Woodward/White in the area of Commercial Litigation.

Bob is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, New York and Massachusetts as well as in the First Circuit, Second Circuit and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Community Involvement
Bob is a Trustee the New Hampshire Master Chorale. He is also a member of the Squam Lakes Association.
