Practice Focus
Janet’s practice focuses on Commercial Contracts, Business Litigation, Business Formation and Succession Planning, Life Science and Technology, International Law and Construction. Before joining the firm in 2008, she was one of the founding partners of the law firm Cohen & Fierman, LLP.
Prior to her legal career, she was an International Trade Economist with the United States Department of Commerce. She also served as Law Clerk for Chief Justice Edward Hennessey of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Honors
Janet was a member of the Law Review for the Boston University School of Law. She has been named a New England Super Lawyer in the area of Closely Held Business.

She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Community Involvement
Janet is currently a member and Chairman for the Town of Brookline Building Commission and is Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of The Boston Club. She has also served as a member of the Boston Bar Association's Diversity Committee, a member of the Boston Bar Journal Board of Editors, a member and Hearing Officer for the State Examiners Board for Plumbers & Gasfitters and the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Runkle School Extended Day Program. She frequently has articles published and also serves as a presenter on various panels.
