(July 19, 2004. Manchester, NH.) - Douglas G. Verge, a director of the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, PA, has been elected to the Board of Directors of St. Joseph Community Services, Inc. (SJCS), a nonprofit organization serving the elderly and homebound disabled throughout Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. As the head of the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology Group, Mr. Verge's experience spans a wide range of intellectual property areas, including trademarks, licensing, copyrights, Internet law, trade secrets, confidentiality agreements and covenants not to compete.
Since joining the firm in 1983, he has represented regional, national and international businesses, including companies based in Europe. He frequently speaks at seminars and writes articles on emerging areas of technology law. He also serves as the managing editor of the firm's IP E-Advisory which is published monthly.
Mr. Verge received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Boston College Law School. His past nonprofit affiliations have included membership on the Boards of the United Methodist Foundation of New England and the former New Hampshire Performing Arts Center.
