| (March 1, 2008. Manchester, NH.) - The law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA is pleased to announce that firm shareholder, Susan A. Manchester is the 2008 recipient of the YWCA's Susan B. Anthony Award, which was presented at the YWCA's Annual Celebration Dinner on March 31, 2008.
Since joining the firm in 1980, Susan Manchester has built an active commercial real estate and lending practice. She represents developers before land use bodies and analyzes complex title issues. She also represents regional and national commercial lenders. Susan has served on numerous boards and worked with many organizations in the greater Manchester area. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for both the Heritage United Way and the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. In June of 2005, she was elected as a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers being the first woman in the State of New Hampshire to be elected to the nationwide organization.
The YWCA of Manchester has given the Susan B. Anthony Award annually for more than 25 years. This award recognizes the contributions of an outstanding woman who lives or works in New Hampshire and exemplifies the ideals of Susan B. Anthony, who believed passionately in and worked for civil and political rights, equality and dignity for all people. These ideals can be demonstrated in any aspect our life: personal, professional, volunteer, etc. The YWCA Executive Director Monica Zulauf stated that "Sue is an amazing woman and role model in so many areas, she typifies exactly what we were searching for, she leads by example.
