| (January 6, 2012, Manchester, NH) - The law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA is pleased to announce that Courtney H.G. Herz and Karyl R. Martin have been elected as Shareholders, effective January 1, 2012.
Herz, a member of the firm's Litigation Department, assists clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters, working with individuals and companies of all sizes. In particular, she has represented clients in close corporation shareholder disputes, petitions to partition real property, matters concerning allegations of employment discrimination and non-competition agreement violations, and post-divorce family law litigation.
In 2010 and 2011, Herz was selected as a Rising Star by New England Super Lawyers in the area of Business Litigation. She was the 2011 recipient of the Sheehan Phinney Kimon S. Zachos Pro Bono Achievement Award. Herz serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the New Hampshire Children's Trust and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Acting Loft Academy of Performing Arts.
Martin, also a member of the firm's Litigation Department, works primarily in the fields of business and employment litigation. She frequently represents employers and employees in matters involving the enforcement of non-competition and confidentiality agreements and allegations of trade secret misappropriation. Martin has extensive experience with matters involving electronic discovery, data preservation and retrieval. She has also appeared before local land use boards in zoning and planning matters.
Martin has been selected as a Rising Star by New England Super Lawyers in the area of Business Litigation for the past three years and was the first-ever recipient of the Sheehan Phinney Kimon S. Zachos Pro Bono Achievement Award. Martin has served on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Women's Bar Association since 2007 and currently serves as its Treasurer.
