Sheehan Phinney Attorneys Co-Author Chapter of MCLE Book

(June 6, 2011, Manchester, NH) - Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA attorneys Elizabeth A. Bailey and Karyl R. Martin have co-authored a chapter on document requests in the book A Practical Guide to Discovery and Depositions in New Hampshire.

The book is published by MCLE and is an essential resource for civil litigators. Backed by court rules, case law, and statutory authority, each chapter provides a comprehensive explanation of a key aspect of New Hampshire discovery and depositions. Bailey practices in the areas of employment law and employment litigation representing both public and private employers. Her practice includes counseling and training employers about ways to effectively avoid and/or defend against employment disputes or claims. She has extensive experience handling matters before the New Hampshire Department of Labor, the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights and the New Hampshire Public Employee Labor Relations Board. Bailey also has wide-ranging litigation experience including jury trials in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts state and federal courts, bench trials, arbitrations and mediations. Her client base ranges from private corporations to municipalities and counties. She is often asked to participate in seminars and/or serve as a panelist at labor and employment related workshops.  Bailey has been recognized by Chambers USA for her work in labor and employment and is a 2011 graduate of Leadership New Hampshire.

Martin works primarily in the fields of business and employment litigation. She frequently litigates cases in the New Hampshire state and federal courts and in arbitration proceedings, and she has also appeared before local land use boards in zoning and planning matters. Before joining SPB+G, she was a law clerk for Associate Justice James E. Duggan of the New Hampshire Supreme Court and Judge Paul J. Barbadoro of the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire. In 2009 and 2010 Martin was selected as a Rising Star by New England Super Lawyers in the area of Business Litigation. She was the first-ever recipient of the SPB+G Kimon S. Zachos Pro Bono Achievement Award, given to an attorney who makes a significant contribution to the firm's pro bono endeavors.
