| (September 23, 2008. Stoneham, MA.) - Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA Shareholder Mark J. Ventola was elected to the Board of Directors for the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce for a three year term. He has been active with the Chamber since 2005, in which he was voted New Member of the Year.
Ventola is the Shareholder in Charge of the firm's Boston Office and Co-Chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Group. His practice focus is on employment and labor law, advising clients about the many aspects of the relationship between employer and employee. Ventola also serves as general counsel to a number of privately owned businesses in a variety of industries, providing advice on corporate governance and general business issues.
Ventola's community involvement is extensive. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Greater Melrose Charitable Foundation and as the Vice President of the Malden Catholic Alumni Association. He has served as Chairman of the Melrose Youth Task Force and as a member of the Melrose Historic District Commission. Ventola was also a member of the Melrose Administration Reform Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors for Stoneham Youth Basketball, where he is a coach. He is also a member of The Order of Sons of Italy and the Appian Club.
In the fall of 2005, 2006, and 2007 Mark was selected as a Massachusetts "Super Lawyer" in the field of labor and employment law in Law and Politics magazine after an extensive survey of attorneys across the state. He is a former director of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association and a member of the Defense Research Institute. Mark has served as an advisor to the Harvard Law School Mock Trial Programs. Mark also serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the National Arbitration Forum.
