From 1965-1966, Kimon served as a White House Fellow as a special assistant to U.S. Attorney General Katzenbach. He also served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1969 through 1974, where he was Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Majority Leader and Deputy Speaker. He earned his B.A. from Wesleyan University, his LL.M. in taxation from Boston University, and his J. D. from New York University School of Law.
