(March 22, 2005. Lebanon, NH.) - Sean Gorman, who practices of counsel with the regional law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA, has been admitted to the Vermont Bar. Mr. Gorman focuses his practice on employment counseling and representation in state and federal matters; the representation of schools and colleges, health care organizations, and other non-profits; zoning and land use issues; and intellectual property.
Prior to joining Sheehan Phinney, he worked in the General Counsel's Office at Dartmouth College for eighteen years. He frequently speaks to business organizations and writes articles on topics related to his areas of practice.
Mr. Gorman is also admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), the River Valley Human Resources Association, the Upper Valley Computer Industry Association, and the Hanover and Lebanon Chambers of Commerce.
In addition to heading Sheehan Phinney's Upper Valley office in Lebanon, NH, Mr. Gorman has also been a trustee and served as Secretary for The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT, since 2002, and as a board member of the United Way of the Upper Valley from 1987 to 1991.
He received his A.B., magna cum laude, with highest distinction in his major, from Dartmouth College where he was named the Rufus Choate Scholar. He completed his J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School where he was wiinner of the Karl Llewellyn Moot Court Competition.
