(December 19, 2005. Manchester, NH.) - Peter Cowan, a shareholder in the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, has been nominated to serve on the newly-created State of New Hampshire Judicial Branch Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution Services. Attorney Cowan was appointed to the committee by Chief Justice John T. Broderick, Jr.
The committee, comprised of 19 members and chaired by Justice Linda S. Dalianis of the Supreme Court, will review current alternative dispute resolution rules and the services provided in the New Hampshire Superior Court, and will be responsible for examining how those procedures could be enhanced.
Since joining Sheehan Phinney in 1980, Cowan has built an active business litigation practice with special emphasis representing design professionals, contractors and owners in construction disputes, and both employers and employees in trade secret, non-competition and confidentiality cases. He chairs the firm's Litigation Department and also serves on the Management Committee.
