(July 16, 2004. Boston, MA.) - Attorney Mark J. Ventola, a partner in the regional law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, PA, has been invited to join the National Arbitration Forum's Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators. The Forum is one of the world's largest providers of alternative dispute resolution services. Arbitrators are required to be highly qualified attorneys with at least fifteen years of experience and must agree to adhere to a strict code of procedure.
Attorney Ventola is a member of the firm's employment and labor law, business consulting and litigation practice groups. His practice involves handling employment litigation in Federal Court, Superior Court and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. He represents public and private employers in collective bargaining with labor unions and serves as labor counsel to a city within the Greater Boston area. Attorney Ventola also counsels clients on issues related to: hiring, trade secrets, termination and separation, wage and hour, family medical leave, and employment discrimination. He is experienced in handling grievance arbitrations, and unfair labor practices matters.
A member of both the Massachusetts and New Hampshire bars, Mr. Ventola practiced in New Hampshire for several years prior to moving to Boston and remains available to serve clients with interests in New Hampshire. He was recently nominated for membership in the International Association of Defense Counsel. He is a member and former director of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association and a member of the Defense Research Institute. He also is a member of the Boston Bar Association.
Active within the community, he was recently named a member of the Melrose Administration Reform Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Greater Melrose Charitable Foundation and is the Vice President of the Malden Catholic Alumni Association. He has served as Chairman of the Melrose Youth Task Force, and as a member of the Melrose Historic District Commission. Attorney Ventola also serves on the Board of Directors for Stoneham Youth Basketball, where is he a coach.
