Cain of Manchester, a shareholder with the firm, has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White, a national research firm. Cain is one of 23 SPB+G attorneys to be honored for their outstanding work and distinguished reputations. Cain was named to the list for his trusts and estates practice. Nearly half of the firm's 49 attorneys in New Hampshire made the 2007 list.
Cain has been a member of the Estate Planning and Probate Group since joining Sheehan Phinney in 1988. Before this, He practiced in the Estate Planning Department at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago for eight years. Cain works with clients and their accountants, insurance agents and financial planners to develop tax-efficient plans for the disposition of family assets at death through the use of marital deduction and generation-skipping tax planning, business succession planning, irrevocable insurance trusts and charitable trusts.
Cain is a 1974 graduate from the University of North Carolina and graduated Boston University Law School in 1977.
