(September 5, 2006. Manchester, NH.) - Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green Attorney Peter S. Cowan of Hopkinton, a shareholder with the firm, has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White, a national research firm. Cowan is one of 23 SPB+G attorneys to be honored for their outstanding work and distinguished reputations. Cowan was named to the list for his commercial litigation law practice. Nearly half of the firm's 49 attorneys in New Hampshire made the 2007 list.
Since joining our firm in 1980, Cowan has built an active business litigation practice and has developed substantial experience with special emphasis representing design professionals, contractors and owners in construction disputes, and both employers and employees in trade secret, non-competition and confidentiality cases. He chairs the firm's Litigation Department and serves on the Management Committee.
Cowan is a 1976 graduate from Dartmouth College and graduated from Boston College Law School in 1980.
Of the 23 attorneys named to the list, 22 are shareholders with the firm (with one being "of counsel"), eight are on the list for the first time, seven have been on the list at least 10 years, and three have been on the list for at least 20 years.
