Each month, Women's Business asks readers for nominations to create a Top 10 list in a particular category. In the January 2009 issue, Women's Business presented the region's Top 10 Corporate Lawyers. Recalde was selected based upon responses from Women's Business readers and firm clients, who submitted nominations. Recalde's practice concentrates on the rapidly changing areas of technology and intellectual property transactions and counseling. Recalde regularly lectures and writes on intellectual property, Internet, e-commerce, data security, privacy, electronic communications and related topics.
Recalde was recognized in 2003 by the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys with its Las Primeras Award "for her unique contributions, vision and leadership with the Latino community in Massachusetts". She has repeatedly been named a Massachusetts and/or New England "Super Lawyer" by Law and Politics and was selected as one of the "Top Ten Women Lawyers in Boston" by Women's Business Boston in 2007. She also received the 2007 "Diversity Heroes Award" given by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and the Massachusetts Bar Association. In 2008 Recalde was named one of the "20 on the Move, Hispanic Executives Making an Impact in Boston" by the Boston Business Journal and El Planeta.
Recalde has been active in a number of community organizations. She is a former Trustee of the Boston Bar Foundation, has chaired the Boston Bar Journal's Board of Editors and served on the council of the Boston Bar Association. She also chaired the Internet/e-commerce committee of the Hispanic National Bar Association. She is a past President of the South Shore Women's Business Network and a former member of its Board of Directors. She serves on the Wellesley Development and Outreach Council, an advisory council to the Board of Trustees, the President and the Office of Resources and Public Affairs of Wellesley College. She is a former member of the Advisory Board of the Boston Chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting. She is also a former member of the International Institute of Boston's Board of Directors.
Recalde was born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua. She is a 1985 graduate from Wellesley College and is a 1988 graduate from Boston College Law School. She is a resident of Hingham, Massachusetts.
