Recalde, a partner in the regional business law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, PA, has been appointed to the Boston Bar Association's Search Committee for a new Executive Director of the Boston Bar Association (BBA) and Boston Bar Foundation (BBF). Boston Bar Association President Renée M. Landers, who recently announced the formation of the committee, indicated that the 11-member Search Committee reflects a broad range of individuals who have participated in BBA and BBF activities.
Attorney Recalde is an active member of the Boston Bar Association and chairs the Boston Bar Journal's Board of Editors, is a former Trustee of the Boston Bar Foundation, and a member of the Boston Bar Foundation Society of Fellows. Maria served a three-year term (1999-2002) as a member of the Council of the Boston Bar Association. She is also a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys, and the Hispanic National Bar Association, where she formerly chaired its Internet/E-Commerce Committee.
Attorney Recalde's practice focuses on Internet and e-commerce law, as well as on intellectual property, unfair competition and complex business litigation. She also provides general corporate representation to emerging companies. Her practice also includes litigation involving non-competition agreements, theft of trade secrets, unfair and deceptive business practices, and trademark and copyright infringement in both state and federal courts. She also practices before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
She lectures and writes regularly on intellectual property, Internet, e-commerce, electronic communications and related topics.
The Search Committee's first task will be to select a professional search firm. The Committee will meet throughout the summer with the goal of selecting a new Executive Director by the end of 2004
