(Manchester, NH, May 3, 2010) - The law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA is pleased to announce that senior shareholder Kimon S. Zachos will be honored by Heritage United Way with the 2010 William S. Green Lifetime Achievement Award on June 10, 2010.
The William S. Green Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 1999 to honor Bill Green's lifetime of service to the United Way and to the Greater Manchester community. Bill Green was one of the founding partners of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green who passed away in 2007. This is the most prestigious award given by Heritage United Way. To receive the award, an individual must demonstrate a long-term history of volunteer service to the United Way and/or the Health and Human Service field. The person must also demonstrate leadership by actual personal voluntary service and motivating and inspiring others to serve. Patrick Tufts, President & CEO of Heritage United Way noted "On behalf of a grateful community, we are honored to present the Heritage United Way William S. Green Lifetime Achievement Award to Kimon Zachos. Kimon has provided a lifetime of service, generosity and leadership to United Way and so many other charitable organizations. We are thankful for the positive impact his support and commitment continues to have on us all."
Joseph A. DiBrigida, Jr., President and Managing Director of Sheehan Phinney commented "I can think of no person who fits all the criteria like Kimon does. He is an inspiration to all and is truly deserving of this honor. The firm and its individuals are benefited every day by Kimon's good work, the leadership he provides and the example he sets."
As Sheehan Phinney's senior shareholder, Zachos' practice encompasses corporate, banking and estate planning law. In addition to a legal career which spans nearly fifty years, Kimon also has dedicated his personal time to the State of New Hampshire and to countless business, civic and cultural organizations.
Early in his career (1965-1966), Kimon served as a White House Fellow as a special assistant to U.S. Attorney General Katzenbach. He also served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1969 through 1974, where he was Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Majority Leader and Deputy Speaker.
