(September 23, 2004. Manchester, NH.) - Attorney James P. Reidy of the Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Practice Group at Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, PA, will address participants at the New Hampshire: Welcoming Diversity & Its Benefits Conference, a statewide conference sponsored by the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights. This conference is aimed at leaders in the State's retail, professional, hospitality, tourist, and business community. Focus will be on: understanding why diversity is vital; how New Hampshire is changing; how to identify, prevent, and eliminate discrimination; and sharing resources.
Mr. Reidy will join Benjamin Nidus of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to provide a general overview of state and federal anti-discrimination laws, especially those relating to race, color, religion and national origin, specifically addressing English-only rules, religious accommodations, harassment prevention, and the importance of training employees and providing strong leadership.
The event takes place on Wednesday, October 13th, from 8:30 am — 4:00 pm at the Center of New Hampshire in Manchester, New Hampshire. The cost of $50 per person includes lunch and materials.
