DiBrigida has been elected President and Managing Director to serve a second three year term. In this position, DiBrigida also serves as Chair of the firm's Management Committee.
The firm's four person Management Committee was also announced including the election of David W. McGrath to serve a second three-year term as the ‘At-Large' Member. McGrath serves as the only other elected member to the Committee. Other appointed members include Peter S. Cowan, Chair of the firm's Litigation Department and Maria E. Recalde, Chair of the Corporate Department.
Joseph A. DiBrigida's practice focuses on all stages of business representation, from formation to financing and venture capital; to business planning and advising; to sales, acquisitions and mergers, with a particular concentration in the communications and broadcast industries.
DiBrigida is actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce as Legal Counsel, President of the Bedford Regional Economic Development Corporation, Director and former President of The Catholic Lawyers Guild of New Hampshire, Director and former President of Child Health Services. He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School and his B.A. from Dartmouth College. DiBrigida is a member of the Dartmouth Lawyers Association.
During his tenure with the firm, David W. McGrath has built a successful general commercial litigation and employment practice representing clients in state and federal courts, arbitration and administrative proceedings. He handles trade secret, non-competition, predatory hiring, fiduciary duty and discrimination cases. McGrath also writes and lectures extensively on a range of employment related topics.
Among his many community activities, McGrath serves as an honorary member of the Board of Directors of The Upper Room, a Southern New Hampshire family resource center. He also serves on the Diaconate at his local church. McGrath received his J. D. from Cornell University Law School and his B.A. from Framingham State College.
Appointed member, Peter S. Cowan Chairs the firm's Litigation Department and has previously served on the Management Committee. He has an active business litigation practice with substantial experience representing contractors, owners, and others in construction disputes and employers and employees in trade secret, non-competition and confidentiality cases. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel. Cowan received his J.D. from Boston College and his B.A. (cum laude) from Dartmouth College.
Maria E. Recalde, a member of the firm's Boston office and newly appointed Chair of the Corporate Department, will serve her first term on the Management Committee. Her legal practice concentrates in the areas of technology and intellectual property transactions, litigation and counseling. She also provides strategic counseling and general corporate representation to start-up and emerging companies.
Recalde currently serves on the Wellesley Development and Outreach Council, an advisory council to the Board of Trustees, the President and the Office of Resources and Public Affairs of Wellesley College. She was recently selected as one of the "Top Ten Corporate Lawyers" by Women's Business Boston. Recalde received her J. D. from Boston College Law School and her B.A. from Wellesley College.
