(April 22, 2011, Manchester, NH) - Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA shareholder Robert E. Dastin has been honored by Neighborworks® Greater Manchester with the David P. Goodwin Outstanding Neighbor Award during the organization's annual meeting on March 30, 2011.
The award is given each year for exceptional service to NeighborWorks® Greater Manchester. Dastin's volunteer service to the non-profit organization has resulted in the creation of affordable housing for thousands of individuals and families in the Greater Manchester area and throughout the state of New Hampshire. "Robert Dastin's involvement with NeighborWorks® Greater Manchester has played a role in ensuring continued opportunities for quality, safe, affordable housing for those who live in the Greater Manchester region," stated Robert Tourigny, executive director of NeighborWorks® Greater Manchester. "He has been a staunch supporter, always willing to provide assistance when needed. We are deeply grateful for his generosity and service to this organization and our community." Dastin has been an active volunteer for NeighborWorks® Greater Manchester for many years, becoming a Trustee in 2000.
As one of Sheehan Phinney's senior members, Dastin has often been recognized by his peers and the media as one of the state's legal leaders. He has repeatedly been recognized in Woodward/White's Best Lawyers in America the areas of Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Law. His legal practice focuses on professional practices and private companies assisting with the formation then and with general representation across a wide range of organizational and business issues. He also acts as local counsel to law firms and businesses across the country in obtaining liquor licenses within the State of New Hampshire, and serves as a national resource as to ‘best practices' with respect to liquor licensing in NH. Dastin has spent a significant amount of time working with many not-for-profit organizations.
Throughout his career, Dastin has devoted a significant amount of time to many organizations in Manchester and the State of New Hampshire. He currently serves as Director of Selective Service for the State of NH; a Director of Amoskeag Industries, Inc.; a Trustee of the Palace Theatre Advisory Board; a Director and past President of the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Assn.; Co-Chair of Manchester MOVES Inc. and a founder and Secretary of Hampshire First Bank, among many others.
