(January 29, 2007. Manchester, NH.) - For the sixth year, the New Hampshire Union Leader has honored 40 shining stars under age 40 that are making a difference in New Hampshire. Sheehan Phinney attorney Peter Nieves was named to the 2007 class of those up and coming leaders. Honorees are nominated and selected based upon their professional and volunteer accomplishments. Nieves, 36, was featured in the January 29, 2007, edition of the newspaper and, along with others on the list, will be honored at an event in March.
Nieves is Chair of the firm's Patent Group. His practice focuses on many aspects of intellectual property, including domestic and foreign preparation and prosecution of patents, domestic and foreign preparation and prosecution of trademarks, and disputes concerning patents, trademarks, copyrights and domain names. He speaks regularly at Dartmouth College in the Tuck School of Business and the Thayer School of Engineering, as well as at other forums. In addition, he is an adjunct professor at Franklin Pierce Law Center.
Nieves lives in Dunbarton, NH, with his wife Bonnie, and their two daughters Skye and Sierra. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo and Franklin Pierce Law Center.
