(March 1, 2008. Boston, MA.) - Sheehan Phinney Attorney John Perten has been asked to join the Construction Law Attorney Forum as its Massachusetts representative. This forum was established by the National Association of Home Builders and is an invitation only forum.
The Construction Law Attorney Forum is open to attorneys who dedicate a substantial portion of their practice to construction defect and builder liability issues. The forum's goal is to bring together those attorneys who deal with the legal issues arising in connection with the construction remodeling industry on a day-to-day basis, and allow them to exchange information on litigation and legislative construction law trends.
Perten is a member of the Litigation and Business Departments and works from the firm's Boston office. He has a complex business litigation and transactional practice and provides representation to clients in a wide variety of settings including construction projects, business transactions, real estate ventures and environmental remediation projects. He is a member of the Associated Builders & Contractors, the Construction Specifications Institute and the Builders Association of Greater Boston. Perten is an adjunct faculty member at Babson College in Wellesley, MA, teaching business law classes in both the undergraduate and graduate M.B.A. programs. He is also a frequent author and lecturer on issues relating to the construction industry. He received his B.A. from Cornell University and his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University School of Law.
