| (June 27, 2011, Manchester, NH) - Peter A. Nieves, a shareholder with the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA has been selected among the inaugural winners of the 2011 Top Patent Prosecutors, one of only two in New Hampshire.
Patent Buddy, in cooperation with the Patent Research Review, a publication of Sunlight Research spearheaded the nationwide list. Patent Buddy is the world's most extensive database and networking website for patent attorneys/agents and innovators. The Top Patent Prosecutor selection process is designed to identify patent prosecutors who have achieved a reputation among their peers for high quality work product and counseling skills in patent application preparation and prosecution. The nominations were sorted into various geographical regions and general technology categories. Out of 30,000 registered patent attorneys, less than 2% were selected as Top Patent Prosecutors. Of those selected to the list, 11% are in-house counsel and 45% have patent registration numbers between 30,000 and 45,000, reflecting an experience range of about 15 to 25 years.
Nieves, the head of the firm's Patents Group, is an experienced patent attorney whose practice focuses on many aspects of intellectual property including: domestic and foreign preparation and prosecution of patents; domestic and foreign preparation and prosecution of trademarks; licensing; legal opinions concerning patents; trademarks; copyrights; and disputes concerning patents, trademarks, copyrights, and domain names. He is a frequent guest speaker at multiple Universities and other forums, and he is an adjunct professor of UNH School of Law.
