(October 21, 2005. Boston, MA.) - Attorney Maria E. Recalde, a director of the regional law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA, will speak on the emerging industries panel at the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) Third Annual Summit - Profiles in Success.
The summit will take place on November 9th from 1:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. at the Bank of America Building, Bank of America Auditorium, Boston College Club, 100 Federal Street, Boston, Massachusetts.
Established in 1972, ALPFA is the first national Hispanic professional association in the United States. Since then, the organization has sought to enhance opportunities for CPAs, accountants, finance and related professionals and students, while expanding Latino leadership in the global workforce. The summit will showcase new Americans who are making significant contributions and adding competitive advantage to New England's emerging and mature sectors.
Attorney Recalde's practice concentrates on the rapidly changing areas of technology and intellectual property litigation, transactions and counseling. She also provides strategic counseling on the wide range of issues facing emerging companies today.
Attorney Recalde has been active in numerous community organizations. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Boston/International Institute of New Hampshire. She is a current member of the Advisory Board of the Boston Chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting. She is a former Trustee of the Boston Bar Foundation, has chaired the Boston Bar Journal's Board of Editors and served on the Council of the Boston Bar Association. She also chaired the Internet/e-commerce committee of the Hispanic National Bar Association. She lectures and writes regularly on intellectual property, Internet, e-commerce, electronic communications and related topics.
Attorney Recalde is a native of Nicaragua and a graduate of Wellesley College and Boston College Law School. She is a resident of Hingham, Massachusetts. For her years of contributions and leadership within the Latino and legal communities she has received awards from the Boston Lawyers Group, the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys and others.
