(August 14, 2007. Manchester, NH.) - Attorney Alan Reische, a partner at Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, was recently appointed by New Hampshire Governor John Lynch to serve on the Citizens Trade Policy Commission.
The Citizens Trade Policy Commission was established pursuant to Senate Bill 162 to evaluate the impact of existing and proposed international trade agreements on the ability of the state of New Hampshire and its municipalities to pass laws and ordinances regarding public health and safety, environmental protection, labor standards, state and local procurement, and the provision of public services. The Commission is charged with assessing and monitoring the legal and economic effects of trade agreements on state and local laws, working conditions, and the business environment; providing a mechanism for citizens and legislators to voice their concerns and recommendations; and making policy recommendations designed to protect New Hampshire's jobs, business environment, and laws from any negative impact of trade agreements.
Alan sits on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire International Trade Association and frequently speaks as a guest lecturer on cross-cultural negotiations at Franklin Pierce Law Center. He also served as a member of the Business and Industry Association's Special Subcommittee on Corporations and Securities Law Revision and presently serves as Vice-Chair and a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Workforce Opportunity Council and as a member of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Capital Formation.
Attorney Reische's practice is focused on transactional matters: business acquisitions and mergers; planning for next-generation internal ownership transfers; and debt and equity financings from institutional and non-institutional sources. He also has completed complex transactions for U.S. companies seeking to establish a presence outside of the United States, as well as with foreign companies commencing activities within the U.S. He has had extensive experience working with the New Hampshire Bureau of Securities Regulation in assuring client compliance with the New Hampshire Blue Sky Statute. His client base ranges from closely held, family-owned companies to those with extremely diverse shareholder ownership.
