Joseph A. DiBrigida, president and managing director of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, said the firm is committed to expanding its Massachusetts practice through the addition of top-flight attorneys. "Alex Pyle is a top attorney in business- and technology-based law and advises companies in many fields, both public and private. We are pleased to add such a talented and versatile attorney to the team," DiBrigida said.
Pyle's practice focuses on advising software, communications, consulting, life science and other technology-based businesses, as well as more traditional business enterprises. Among the types of matters that he handles are: private equity financings; development and distribution arrangements; mergers and acquisitions; state and federal securities law compliance, including public company compliance; and new entity structuring and financing. Pyle also assists clients with general business matters, including employment agreements, executive compensation, equity incentive arrangements, restructurings and commercial contracts.
Pyle has addressed many pressing and important issues throughout his career. He also served as the general counsel and secretary for Lightbridge, Inc., a NASDAQ-traded company that provides software and services to the telecommunications industry.
Pyle is active in entrepreneurial organizations throughout Massachusetts. He serves on the board of directors of The ICA Group, Inc., a nonprofit provider of employee ownership, business development, and job retention services; and its subsidiary, Local Enterprise Assistance Fund, Inc., which invests in worker-owned and community based businesses. In addition, he served as a judge for the Harvard Business School's Business Plan Competition and is active with Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc.
